God’s Promises for Your Favor!
Genesis chapter 6 gives us a picture of the old world before the flood – a world of men mighty in body and mind, ferocious, eventful, everyone guided only by self-will, having cast off God and conscience, and every man doing what was right in the sight of his own eyes. And amidst all, Noah found favor in the sight of God.
“But Noah found favor with the Lord.” Genesis 6:8 [NLT]
Favor is essential in the journey of life. It separated Noah from the wrath and destruction that befell the earth during his time.
Our LORD Jesus grew not in stature only, but in wisdom and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
Favor is life!
“We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, the deeds you did in their days, in days of old: you drove out the nations with your hand, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your countenance because you favored them.” Psalm 44:1-3
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
